23Arts artist-in-residence Tanya Gabrielian will lead the Attacca Quartet in a special performance of the Bartók Quintet at All Souls Church.

The Attacca Quartet is the Quartet in Residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The group is comprised of violinist Amy Schroeder, violinist Keiko Tokunaga, violist Luke Fleming and cellist Andrew Yee.

They have been called "stunning... a demonstration of a musical maturity far beyond its members' years" by The Strad and "great fun... taut ensemble playing" by American Record Guide.

Pianist Tanya Gabrielian became internationally renowned at the age of twenty with back-to-back victories in the Aram Khachaturyan International Piano Competition and the Scottish International Piano Competition. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Royal Academy of Music, where she received the prize for the best final recital for six consecutive years, and completed her studies at Juilliard as the only candidate accepted for the prestigious and selective Artist Diploma.

The rarely performed Piano Quintet in C major (1904) by Béla Bartók is a major work in the chamber music genre that represents the composer’s early attempts to break from the traditional compositional standards of his contemporaries as well as his early attempts to include folk elements in his works.
