Beethoven haunts the Catskills!
Beethoven's Ghost Trio is one of his most beloved chamber works. At its heart is a slow movement inspired by Shakespeare's Macbeth, one of the most searing listening experiences in the entire repertoire.
23Arts brings together three exceptional chamber musicians, Francesca DePasquale (violin), Raman Ramakrishnan (cello) and Jonathan Yates (piano) to bring this haunting work to life, providing lively insight into what has made this piece endure over 200 years after it was written.
This free event continues 23Arts 'Deconstructing...' series, which aims to educate and illuminate audiences on lesser known compositions through the lens of passionate contemporary artists.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS: Francesca DePasquale is described by critics as "scintillating" and is celebrated for her "rich, expressive playing" by MusicalAmerica.
Cellist Raman Ramakrishnan joined the Bard Conservatory faculty in the fall of 2012 and was a founding member of the Daedalus Quartet, winners of the grand prize at the 2001 Banff International String Quartet Competition.
Conductor and pianist Jonathan Yates is lauded for his versatility, his highly expressive performances, and the depth of his musical intellect.
