Of all the great composers, Schubert’s life was the briefest; he died at the tender age of 31. In that incredibly short span, he wrote over 600 songs, as well as numerous solo, chamber, and orchestral works. The most beloved of all his works are those he wrote at the end of his life, epic pieces that transport the listener to another world, and his great A Major Piano Sonata offers one of the most exciting journeys of all.
