Violinist Wayne Lee is joined by violinist Jasmine Lin for a chronological survey of music written for double violin. With repertoire featuring Telemann, Spohr, Wienlawski, Bartok, Schnittke and Smith- Stein, Lee and Lin’s performance will highlight the various and nuanced approaches to limited instrumentation within classical music. Repertoire will span pre- and post-20th century works to further emphasize the diverse inspirations and parallels across various composers for two violins.

Wayne Lee, a violinist originally from San Francisco, is an active chamber musician. Since 2012, he has been a member of the Formosa Quartet, a Taiwanese-American ensemble that has won acclaim worldwide since winning First Prize at the London International String Quartet Competition.

Jasmine Lin began violin studies at age four. Since then she has appeared as soloist with many orchestras. She was a prizewinner in the International Paganini Competition and took second prize in the International Naumburg Competition. The New York Times describes her as an “unusually individualistic player” with “electrifying assertiveness” and “virtuosic abandon”.
